Spam Protection
Add a honeypot field and FormBeam applies extra filters so junk is less likely to hit your inbox.
Protection Layers
FormBeam uses a few checks to cut bot noise.
1
Honeypot fields
Hidden field named honeypot. Real users leave it empty; many bots fill it.
2
Extra filters
Additional checks run on the server for suspicious submissions.
What happens to spam
Honeypot hits are marked spam.
Those submissions can still be stored as spam for review, but they do not send notifications and do not count toward usage.
No CAPTCHA required by defaultSpam does not burn your quota
Extra steps you can take
Optional hardening.
FormBeam will not catch everything. These help:
- Allow only your real site domains
- Prefer boring field names over odd guessable ones
- Skim submissions when volume spikes
